And the day has finally arrived: your treatment day. We can well imagine that you may feel a certain amount of anticipation, as this is a medical procedure you have been looking forward to for some time. Rest assured: our team is highly experienced and fully specialised in hair transplantation.
To give you a clear picture of the treatment day, a brief explanation of the steps we follow is set out below. When you choose our hair clinic, you will be given a detailed briefing on the whole process in advance. To give you a first impression, a short overview of the steps that take place on the treatment day is shown below.
You will then be introduced to the medical team who will look after you throughout the day. They will clearly explain what to expect at each stage.
Your donor area is then neatly shaved and, depending on the type of hair transplant, your recipient area as well. The lead of the treatment team then marks out the recipient area. This is done in line with the treatment plan we drew up together with you, so that the desired end result can be mapped out precisely.
Photographs are then taken for your medical file. These photos clearly illustrate how the treatment plan will be carried out, and they also form the basis for your satisfaction guarantee. In the unlikely event that we do not deliver on the agreed treatment plan following your hair transplant, we will of course put this right in consultation with you, free of charge.
In the treatment room, your scalp is first given a local anaesthetic. This is done in two stages. First, you receive numbing using the so-called Dermojet. This is a completely needle-free anaesthetic, in which anaesthetic fluid is applied under high pressure to the surface of the skin. A deeper local anaesthetic is then administered using very fine needles, though patients generally feel very little of this, as the Dermojet pre-treatment has already taken effect.
Once you are fully numbed, the specific hair transplant method you have chosen (Sapphire FUE or DHI) is then carried out. You can read detailed information about these methods on the “treatments” page.
After the procedure, an evaluation takes place in which you discuss the final result together with the lead of the treatment team. You are then talked through the aftercare instructions you need to follow. These instructions are also provided in writing, so that you can review them at your own pace at home. You will also be given our medical helpline number, which is available to you 24/7. You also receive the aftercare pack, containing useful aids and products (such as shampoo, lotion, neck pillow, cool-package, etc.) that you can use during the healing process.

You are then ready to head home, and the journey towards a fuller head of hair begins. We look forward to seeing you back with us five times for follow-up check-ups, during which we track your progress together. These steps are explained further under “The Aftercare Journey”.
We recommend that our patients are accompanied by a travel companion. You are likely to feel tired after the procedure, so it is essential that someone takes you home. Your companion need not be bored while waiting, as there are plenty of interesting places nearby to visit. However, some companions prefer to stay close to the patient. That can also be accommodated at our hair clinic. In that case, we offer you the option of using the waiting area reserved for your travel companion. Your companion is of course welcome to join you for the lunch we provide — something our patients often find very pleasant.
