Hairtec Hair Transplant Clinic

Ms. R. van Jole

Rowena had the DHI hair transplant (the so-called hair-sparing method). With this method the hair does not have to be fully shaved off, and in the donor area (at the back of the head) the hair is shaved in such a way that the hair above it camouflages the bare area. This method is used for both women and men who do not want a fully shaven head.

Before – 12 months after the hair transplant

As a woman, being bald really isn’t nice and the thinning patches in my hair really bothered me. I started looking for a good clinic and got a good feeling from the information on the Hairtec website. That made it an easy step for me to go in for a consultation. The consultation was very pleasant and I was well informed. The head of the treatment team also joined the conversation, which gave me a lot of confidence, because she listened carefully to my wishes and complemented them nicely. She really picked up on what was bothering me. It was very reassuring to hear that it was possible to make my hair fuller again. I deliberately chose the DHI method because I didn’t want a closely shaven head after the treatment. On the morning of the procedure the doctor explained the plan. They then shaved a small strip on the back of my head to take the hairs that would be placed on the thinning areas of my scalp. The shaving was done very precisely so that my hair fell nicely over it after the operation. Placing the hairs back was done with a kind of pen and felt very gentle to me. After the procedure the back of my head was partly bandaged and I had a closing conversation with explanations and all sorts of small aftercare items.

It’s now 12 months later and everyone around me is very complimentary about the result, and I’m really happy about that. After two months I already saw some hairs growing that I was positive about, but now at 12 months I really notice a huge difference compared to before. I also tell everyone who will listen how happy I am with the hair transplant and how good I feel now. Looking back, I should have done it much sooner. I also want to help break the taboo around hair transplants for women, because going bald really isn’t pleasant. I’m now finally rid of it and I genuinely wish that for everyone. That’s why I was very happy to take part in this interview.
